2 Years of Progress

Description

Uploading this pic for my friend :iconwilddragonfly: to show what 2 years of practice can do for your skill. I obviously have a place in my heart for Night of the Living Dead as I felt compelled to do Barbara twice within a couple of years! They're coming to get you, Barbara! xD Anyway, yeah, so this was one of those times when comparing the two of these that I realized I had made a HUGE amount of progress with my painting. Made me feel darn good xD

Oh and you also asked me if I had any training, Wild, and no I have not. I have been to classes, had instructors, etc, but I never meshed well with them as they expected me to do things exactly their way or it wasn't 'right.' I feel there are some things that are a science in art, like color theory, mixing paints, anatomy, but everything else is open to interpretation by the artist and shouldn't be confined to what ONE person (a teacher) thinks. I think the only art instructor I ever met that I got along with was my 8th grade art teacher. She was AWESOME. Was all about letting you do your own thing and simply adding the guidance and Q&A you needed to ask from her. That's how I feel it should be. I actually used to spend my lunches and all my extra free time in that art room working on clay sculpture because I loved it so much hah.

Wow, that is just incredible :D I am so glad that you uploaded this <3 Your shading has clearly always been lovely, but I can certainly see improvement in your structure and detail and development on style. Those hands <3 So awesome. Hands are such a bitch LOL

I agree. It's too bad that the teachers were trying to force their ways on others. I've learned that there is tons of ways to do almost anything when it comes to art, and that's what really sets everyone apart.
